What is a Tattoo?

Tattooing is an ancient art form with a rich and varied history going back thousands of years and diverse cultures worldwide. Evidence of tattooing dates back at least 5,000 years, with mummified remains like Ötzi the Iceman (c. 3300 BCE) displaying numerous tattoos. Over time, tattooing has served various purposes, from spiritual and healing practices to social status markers and expressions of identity. In different eras and regions, the significance and perception of tattoos have changed, evolving from awe-inspiring rituals to symbols of rebellion and, more recently, widely accepted forms of self-expression. In our opinion, Tattooing is considered a form of therapy for stress,  depression, and anxiety, too. That’s the feedback we get daily from Artists and individuals.

Technically, a tattoo is a permanent marking – design on the skin created by inserting tattoo ink into the dermis, the second layer of skin, using needles. This is typically done with a handheld machine that repeatedly pierces the skin, depositing tiny droplets of ink. There are other methods as well, like Stick And Poke and Tabori.
